Hello again.
Have just set up my daughters pc, moving from Linux Mint to Phoenix.
She has an Epson SX130 printer/scanner which installed onto Mint using the .rpm files
downloaded from Epson. I installed with Package Manager.
I now want to install this printer into Phoenix.
I started with Control Center - Manage your Hardware.
On the section Configure Printing and Scanning, on moving the cursor to Set Up the Printers...
the cursor changed to the normal hand, but nothing happened when I clicked, so I was unable
to proceed down this route.
I then downloaded the drivers from Epson, and discovered there is no Package Manager
in Synaptic. Another post in these forums suggested using rpm --i name of package.
I tried this and was informed
warning: epson-inkjet-printer-201101w-1.0.0-1lsb3.2.i486.rpm: Header V3 DSA/SHA1 Signature, key ID 8aa65d56: NOKEY
error: Failed dependencies:
lsb >= 3.2 is needed by epson-inkjet-printer-201101w-1.0.0-1lsb3.2.i486
I then installed lsb4.0-1 from Synaptic together with the associated downloads and tried again.
I now receive the message
warning: epson-inkjet-printer-201101w-1.0.0-1lsb3.2.i486.rpm: Header V3 DSA/SHA1 Signature, key ID 8aa65d56: NOKEY
/var/tmp/rpm-tmp.Ousapk: line 22: cd: /etc/cups/ppd: No such file or directory
Can anyone advise ?
I know that installing from outside the repo is frowned upon, but as far as I can see I have
no choice.
