Mic Not working [SOLVED]
« on: October 15, 2012, 11:33:55 AM »
How do I adjust the input levels for my internal microphone? I know this sounds like a dumb question, but I cant seem to figure it out.

The problem was actually with Audacity, not the system. I had the wrong input device selected in the settings there.

You really need to give us a little bit of a clue what you are talking about.

What hardware are you using?

What version of PCLOS are you using"

Is it up to date?

What application are you using that needs input from the microphone?

Sorry about that!
I am using my HP G6 laptop. My soundcard is: RS880 HDMI Audio [Radeon HD 4200 Series] (it is the built in mic, sorry not sure of the details on it)
I am using up to date PCLOS FM 2012.09

I am recording audio with the latest versions of these programs:
qtRecordMyDesktop
Audacity
Webcam Studio

Sorry I failed to give this info before!

I don,t use FM so I will wait and see what other responses you get.

But, in the meantime, I will say that depending on the machine, I use either PulseAudio or QasMixer.

In general, I have never found an audio device that does not show in QasMixer and allow you all the control you want for it.

I don't know if it is part of the FM install.

If you do not get some more knowledgeable advice, I will boot my FM disk and do some playing later.
