Dear colleagues,

This morning I ran Synaptic, to update my system. The MLT framework was updated, so, I updated my system.
But...
Not everything ran well. The video editor Open Shot complains it can't find the Frei0r plugins(without Frei0r plugins, its effects capabilities are decreased a lot). Since Frei0r uses MLT, something must have happened between these two (MLT and Frei0r).
If someone is experiencing the same problems, or already found a way to fix this issue, I would like to ask for help.

Ok ?

Thanks in advance,

Hmm...... lets try a rebuild of frei0r-plugins against the new mlt. Will send to repos as soon as built.

Mr. Neal,

According to this post: https://answers.launchpad.net/openshot/+question/186892

It is the right thing to do (Rebuild Frei0r against the new MLT)

Hi Mr. Neal,

Unfortunately, it did not work. I am going to enter the Open Shot users forum to seek advice on how to fix this problem, and, ASAP, I will return with a solution (if there's one...) I hope there is.

Sincerely,

I'm in contact with Andy, one of the devs. Let's see what he advises me to do.
Perhaps it doesn't need that much work to fix.

I will keep you posted on any news.

Oh, oh...
Unfortunately the dev instructed me to seek for help with the guys from the MLT framework.

Quote
Well it confirms that MLT is not picking up the frei0r effects. A similar thing came up before with someone who built their own packages:

https://answers.launchpad.net/openshot/+question/186892

You might want to check that & see if any of that applies to your system.

Failing that, you could ask here http://mltframework.org/bin/view/MLT/OnlineSupport or ask on the MLT devel list, but you might not get much help as you are using distro supplied packages.

From this post: http://openshotusers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1402

Seems the hole is deeper than I thought.

I am already trying to contact the MLT folks, but their site doesn't show up. A ping tells me the host is unknown (site down) .
More news as they happen.

Best regards,

Hi Mr. Neal and fellow PCLinuxOS colleagues,

A brief update: I am in contact with one of the devs of the MLT framework, Den Dennedy, and he's assisting me with this issue.
Let's see if  together we can overcome this problem.

And, more news as they happen.

Sincerely,
