[SOLVED] Can't find SRPM
« on: October 13, 2012, 06:51:05 AM »
Following on from this: http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,109834.0.html

I thought I'd try and figure out what the problem is but I'm stuck before I begin:
The ghostscript RPM in the repo is ghostscript-9.04-2pclos2011.i586.rpm but the only SRPM I can find is ghostscript-9.04-1pclos2011.src.rpm

Or on the %changelog, check who packaged it last (Neal checks thh SRPMS so it should be the person after him. Then contact the packager.

I'd no intentions of contacting him.

Use the SRPM that is available.
Builds and installs without errors.

Code: [Select]
[kernelkarter@stargate ~]$ gs --version
9.04
[kernelkarter@stargate ~]$

Unfortunately, it doesn't work correctly  :-\

"doesn't work correctly" isn't usable information in diagnosing the problem.

I have answered the original question about the 9.02/9.04 versioning here.  Synaptic/apt will not automatically downgrade packages so it was the only way to do it.

I guess only Texstar knows why he back it down, unless it has been discussed elsewhere in the forum.

Terry.

Seen your response about the versioning differences, thanks, and I guess that just about wraps it up.
