troubles with sleep/suspend and resume
« on: October 12, 2012, 12:40:36 PM »
Hi Folks,
Ive been away to other distro's for a while and figuring out if I can get PCLOS operating again.
Installing was easy, and found all the software I need (You guys really do a great job!!!).
But there are still 2 issues:
1: How can I use sleep and resume without entering any passwords?
Now I have to enter my password on resume. I disabled it in the screensaver settings, but without any result.
2: Working with sleep/suspend and resume is really important to me.
I configured the powerbutton action to "sleep". This just works. But when I resume, I only have a few seconds and then my PC enters sleep again. I have to press the powerbutton again, to get it full awake....
How can I fix this? Is there any setting I can change? In which logfile should I look?
I tried finding answers with google and here on the forum, but couldnt find it. Its a fres install, 32b, all updates.
I hope anyone can help!
Regards,
Gerben

Different desktop environments have different ways to change "password on resume".
So we need information on which flavour of PCLOS you run (e.g. KDE, Gnome, LXDE and so on)

dgschut said he disabled it in the screensaver settings, but without any result.

I am not right now at KDE but IIRC this should be done in the Power (or something similar) settings

Possibly?

Changed all settings to "no password" without result.
Switched to XFCE. Missing some KDE features, but the basics are working at least :-)
