Hi everyone. Was running Ubuntu on my PC earlier and tried out PCLinux and it is much more responsive and solved all my stability issues I was having too. Not sure how that works really but I'm not complaining!

Anyhow I am wondering if anyone has successfully compiled D2X-XL on PCLinux. This is a much enhanced port of Descent 2 -
http://www.descent2.de/d2x.htmlchecking for sdl-config... /usr/bin/sdl-config
checking for SDL - version >= 1.2.8... no
*** Could not run SDL test program, checking why...
*** The test program failed to compile or link. See the file config.log for the
*** exact error that occured. This usually means SDL was incorrectly installed
*** or that you have moved SDL since it was installed. In the latter case, you
*** may want to edit the sdl-config script: /usr/bin/sdl-config
./configure: line 413: test: or: integer expression expected
configure: error: specify
./configure: line 302: return: or: numeric argument required
./configure: line 312: exit: or: numeric argument required
sdl-config --version returns 1.2.14 and I've installed every sdl lib I could find.
I know it's a long shot but I thought I'd take it seeing as this is one of my favorite games all time. I think the issue is it's looking in a different location than PCLinux installs SDL.
Either way, I think I've found the best performing desktop distro now.
