Alternatively, you can download and install the driver from AMD's website, again at your own risk.
I'm using AMD's Catalyst Legacy 12.6 (this driver is not in the repos) for my HD4650 in my testing install and so far I haven't noticed any issues. In fact it works better in some cases than with Catalyst 12.4.
But from what I've seen in AMD's website, the latest stable Catalyst for Linux is 12.8 which is the same as in the testing section
