gnome unresolvable dependencies

When trying to install task-gnome-minimal and task-gnome, I get the following "Unresolvable dependencies" error(s)

install on what?

Have you correctly updated the present install?

I cannot reproduce the problem here on a KDE install.

I am trying it on an up to date KDE install, 32 bit, of course.  I tried it on two different systems in my house but one install is a mylivecd install.  I will try again and report back.

When I mark those for installation, I get an extremely long list of packages which need "to be upgraded," the last of which is appropriately named 'yelp'.  When I press 'OK' I get the following message listing "unresolvable dependencies":

The last 3 are in the repository.  I haven't checked the others.

I am running a recently installed KDE system from the minimal 2012.08 iso.  I use a number of Gnome applications.

I use the PASS repository and re-loaded a few hours ago.
