I want to set the Chromium browser as standard.
've Uninstalled Firefox.Chromium - Settings - Chromium set as the default browser - does not work.
I'm really perplexed.

you want chromium to be the default browser so that it can be auto used from where? Different applications may have their own settings for storing what browser to use.

to change where kde store its default web browser,do the following:

start system settings->default applications->web browser and change "firefox" to "chromium"
.. 3 things are certain in life : death, taxes and software bloat ..
.. tell me something i don't know, something i can use as i struggle to reason with the world around me ..

May also need to set it as the default handler for html files.

Thank you very much

The solution was in front of my nose. I beg your pardon.
In future I will make no such stupid question.

Thanks
