Do you have "task-printing-canon" installed?

A search for "pixma" in Synaptic turns up a number of "cnijfilter*" packages...I do not have a Canon printer, so i don't know if these are relevant...

According to the Canon USA site (found by doing a web search on "mg3120 linux"), there are no Canon supplied drivers, but "The driver may be included in your OS or you may not need a driver"...

I won a Canon printer in a magazine competition 12 months ago. I wasted many hours trying to get the necessary driver and enable the printer to work. In the end, I gave the printer to our daughter; bought an HP 2050 multimode machine from a retailer for $NZ 59; and found the answer to my problems.

The necessary driver for the HP 2050 was already contained in HPLIP. Thus, printing, scanning and photocopying all work perfectly. In the end, it was not worth persisting with the other printer.

hello and welcome to the forum!

have you verified if it exist a driver for it under synaptics?

also, sometimes on the website of the manufacturer you can find a linux driver, have you searched for it there?
