MTP support in KDE 4.10.1
« on: April 02, 2013, 12:05:44 AM »
I thought that with KDE 4.10.1 we were supposed to get MTP support. My Galaxy Nexus with Android 4.2.2 won't mount on my system. I get Error-KIOExec Unknown error Bad parameters when I try to mount my phone.Has anyone experienced this or is this unique to me? I also have a Nexus 7 with Android 4.2.2 that isn't recognized at all. MTPFS is installed from Synaptic. Thanks.

The kio-mtp should be in the updates as time permoits.  Hopefully soon.

I would also love to access my Nexus 7 through USB rather than through Wireless.

Why? Airdroid rocks and no cables to mess with.

Thanks to everyone who donates. You keep the servers running.

speed would be the concern, airdroid is really good but copy a couple gigabytes takes 15 minutes, the usb connection does the same under 2 or 3 minutes

no idea why airdroid limits itself to 5 mbps connection more or less

still wireless seems better to me, when i mount the sd card filesystem on the machine, i expose it to errors reading and writing fat32, something that happened to me in the past

maybe mtp works better than old usb mas storage?

Personally, I like to do everything from my laptop or PC, not from my tablet.  The kio-mtp will allow me to move things around on the tablet a lot easier than doing it all on the tablet.

Besides wireless is not allowed at work, with the kio-mtp, I can still mess around with my tablet and laptop at work.  Not productive, but something to do during lull times.
