I recently purchased a 16GB USB thumb drive to hold my Clonezilla images. Initially, Clonezilla did not recognize the thumb drive and was useless at that point. The trick was to create a partition in the USB drive via gparted. Now, the thumb drive is recognized as sdb1, and Clonezilla writes to it and restores from it nicely. David
