have to say, that I found this app a bit daunting to set up.. so many settings that it was confusing  ;D

Like most good apps in Linux dealing with video and audio it has a multitude of settings and I guess the author reckons you know how to use it  :D

It is easy to get used to though, particularly after having problems.
I am definitely more at ease with it now than I was before testing this update.  ;)

Confirmed   VU Meter is working here too!

I have no idea what might have affected it, but am happy to see it  :D

It's working now for me but I don't know why as I haven't touched anything  :)

Neither did I  :D

I thought maybe I was checking only without recording .......  as it shows up only when recording, which is not what I would like as I would wish to set the volume for the MIC before starting the recording.

Coming here from post re: cheese, at suggestion of Just17.  Tried to install rpm, fixed gtk+3.0 dependency, then got this  error:

[doug@Linux1 Downloads]$ rpm -ivh guvcview-1.6.1-1KernelKarter2012.i586.rpm
error: can't create transaction lock on /var/lib/rpm/__db.000 (No such file or directory)

Don't know what to do to fix this.  suggestions gratefully appreciated!

Testing is now closed but I'd like to say thank you to all those of you who took the time and trouble to test and to provide feedback.

Thank You!  ;D
