[SOLVED] Sharing out is not working since 4.8.3 reinstall

Sharing out is not working since 4.8.3 reinstall.
Well other things too but I'll get to those later
(upgrade was a disaster so I reinstalled)
I have install notes and I have edited all the network files the same as before.
AFTER 2012-08 KDE install I have no sharing out, just in.
Where should I start looking?

I wouldn't even hazard a guess ......  you have not said what you are sharing, how you are sharing it, to where you are sharing - LAN, WAN? .....  nor any other details that might be helpful ..... such as how you set it up, using what tools/utilities, how it is failing, what errors do you get, what tests you have done to try to determine the cause ....  etc etc

JUST NOW my bottom panel is not taking any clicks

You just might have a bad install .....

right after firefox was loaded the panel stopped
its gone again
My install was done from brand new mylivecd build which seems ok on other machines

When multiple probems appear I suspect the install procedure .....  the optical media might be ok, but that is not to say something was not mis-read during the install .........  just an idea ........

You were right, bad install, reinstalled it all, everything is fine
