[Solved] Openshot 1.4.2
« on: September 27, 2012, 02:51:48 AM »
I get an Error popup screen when I start Openshot 1.4.2 that it can not find the frei0r-effecten library and that the package frei0r-plugins should be installed.
However a 'frei0r-plugins' search in Synaptic shows that it is already installed.
Does this mean that Openshot 1.4.2 is a broken package and I should report it in Broken Packages section ???

I was already considering to do that.
The problem is still there and the best next thing (my opinion) is to put something like [On hold] there.
The problem is finally solved when it's done upstream.
What would you like me to do ???
I did not find that link in my 'openshot' search in this forum otherwise I would not have started this item.

Hi atolboo,

I am working on this issue (guess I was the 1st one to spot it) with one of the devs. It's not a crippling issue, since one still can edit videos, just the frei0r effects are out (for the time being).
Anyways, I hope for a solution soon.
Ok ?

Best regards,

.......guess I was the 1st one to spot it.....
That is very well possible as I have just investigated my transfer from Pardus to PCLOS and Erfahrung mit PCLinuxOS.

It's not a crippling issue, ...
I know and I noticed that the error popup screen hides behind the Openshot window.
And you can only continue in Openshot after closing this error window.
That makes it a very annoying behavior.

Just spotted  that a new version has been released
=================================
Oct 01, 2012

Version 1.4.3 Released!

After many months of hard work and dedication from many great people, I am proud to announce the official release of OpenShot 1.4.3! This release has more bug fixes, enhancements, and new features than any other release of OpenShot to date!  Please watch our release video and check out the new features:

While there are many open-source video editors to choose from on Linux, none offer the simplicity, powerful & beautiful 3D animations, and community support of OpenShot

New Features for OpenShot 1.4.3

Improved Timeline Snapping for Transitions (no more manual adjustment of every transition)

Improved Drag & Drop features (Vertical Constraints, Improved Gap Removal, New Keyboard Shortcuts, and more)

New 3D Animations (Realistic Earth, Exploding Text, Dissolving Text, and more)
10+ New Effects (Sharpness, Vignette, Lens Correction, and more)
Apply Effects to Tracks (and Multiple Clips at the same time)
Adjust Speed of Animated Titles (utilizing time remapping, for interpolated smooth animations)
    New Transitions (6 bars, boxes)
    New Dark Theme
    Improved Translations
    Updated Documentation
Updated Dependencies (Now requires Blender 2.62+)
Tons of Bug Fixes (Full List of Bugs & Features)

Have you managed to install Openshot 1.4.3?

When trying to install it (using PASS) I get the following message:

Code: [Select]
openshot:
Depends: libmlt4  but it is not installable

hello agmg: I had to change repos before I could get any updates, I tried with heanet and did not get any updates, I switched to another repo and got an OpenShot update and it seems to have solved my freeze and shut down problem but I have not tried to do any editing yet.
