Full Monty, very good but flawed
« on: September 24, 2012, 02:53:19 PM »
In many ways the Full Monty OS is the best linux system that I have tried. However it has two flaws that I cannot repair in the same way as in older versions of pclinuxos.

With my Brother printer, one of the listed ones, it spews out pages with nothing or next to nothing when I click print. It is not the fault of the printer because it works perfectly with Mepis on the same computer. I tried localhost 631 but all it did was tell me that the job queue was empty.

LibreOffice refuses to load unless I restart the computer.

Others have reported both flaws but nothing with a simple fix.

Excellent Review.  ??? ???

I joke, a lot. Are you asking for assistance with these issues or just pointing them out? ;)

Well, I am not sheine , but it would be interesting to see something about " spewing out blank pages",
as my HP has done so in the past a few times.
Never knew why , as when this happened, I just opened winXP in Vbox, and that was that !

Oh,, I was not offering any assistance, I was just pointing out the fact that there were no questions about anything in the post. ;)

Perhaps sheine has already figured out the problem and can offer assistance?

Xenaflux,
It might pay to check you have the correct paper selected eg: A4 instead of US Letter
maybe?
Cages.

First a correction.
This has happened to me in the past, as in < last year >
It was not FM, but KDE4 , either full or Minime.

If it happens again, I will...check if I have the correct paper selected.
Thanks. Good tip.

I really don't understand why anyone would bother to reply unless he had a solution or confirmed that he had the problem too.

I really don't understand why you are being rude to those trying to offer suggestions as to reasons why you may be having your problems, or asking for more information, being as you didn't give any real details about what you've tried yourself to correct the problem.

If you need any directions on how to track down the issues you're having, just ask, sheine. Once we know what's going on we might be able to help.

The information you gave is very unspecific and, well, you didn't add a question to your original post.

So, back to start, can you live with it? If not, can you fix it? If not, shall we try to help you fix it?

Greets,

aguila
