how to set up file sharing with blackberry playbook and pc linux.  need to know how to do with wi fi or usb or both

I found this guide that may help you:

Of course it is for another distro so the last steps are different. But from what I can tell, the connection is made using Samba.
If you use KDE as your DE you can connect to a Samba share using Dolphin. Just right click on "Places" and choose add entry.
Then enter: smb://the.ip.of.blackberry/ and you should be able to share files between the two machines.

Dolphin is the KDE file manager. It's in your menu. You can also press Alt+F2 or open a terminal and type "dolphin" [enter]

In the link above you need to replace "another distro" by the name of Canonical's well known product. The name is being replaced here to avoid discussions with fanboys that happened too often in the past.
All that is is good. PCLinuxOS is.
