KDE-utils-KGpg missing on one PC, present on another.

Dear group, I have one PC with a brand new install of the latest PcLinux, i also have another PC with a 2011 install.  On the new install i have downloaded KGpg which is the frontend for GPG.  On the PC with the 2011 install this item is not present in the repos.  I have the same repo selected on both PCs.  Is there any way that i can download this item from the Repositories please.

Is the 2011 install running KDE 4.8?

Aaah!  Since the update to 4.8.x the following was changed

Synaptic > Settings > Repositories > Section(s) field, was changed from kde4 to kde

which is why probably why you can't see the kde-utils-kgpg package.

If you switch to kde and do a reload you should see it BUT please remember most (if not all) kde stuff has been migrated for KDE 4.8x so dependency issue(s) - and possibly further problems - may arise by installing kgpg (that's if the install can even be done)

Any other apps that may appear to need updating would most likely cause problems as well.

I see, i changed the KDE4 to KDE in Synaptic and did a search for KGpg and found it.  I marked it for install and a whole long list appeared of other items that had to be removed, so i chickened out.

Would i be best trying to update to the new KDE version do you think?

If you wish to keep your system in sync with the repo mirrors, you don't have a lot of choice. As always, first upgrade your already installed system, then add any new application installations you wish.
