You could download an older iso say 2012.2 http://archives.pclosusers.com/isos/ and install it, but you won't be able to do any updates if you do.
Wait!
Following issues with bluetooth after a clean install of 2012.8, I, for the fun of it, made a clean install of the 2012.2. This was yesterday. And then I upgraded only the installed packages as usual. I wanted to see what will happen.
The update went on smoothly, with no issues at all and then I removed and added a few other programs as well.
I expected to see a non functioning system so imagine my surprise when all went well.
It is still kde 4.6.5 with kernel 2.6.38.8-pclos3.bfs (when I check the Kinfocenter) and its fully updated!
To preserve it, I immediately made a remaster! lol.
I had earlier also made a remaster of 2012.8 with kde 4.8 before I removed it. So I have 2 remasters.
Since all is strangely well, I guess I will stay will 4.6.5 for now......lol.
If it is not broken, do not fix it.
