"Annoying" issue with KScreensaver
« on: September 16, 2012, 05:30:32 PM »
My apologies if this has been covered before (I did search the forum, and didn't find anything about this).

After my update to KDE 4.8.3, KScreensaver always displays Desktop 2 when you return to the desktop. I did find Pinoc's post about displaying desktop #1when logging in, but this instance is different since it's when KScreensaver exits and you return to the desktop.

I looked in the config settings for KScreensaver and looked in kscreensaverrc for some hidden setting, but I can't seem to find any setting to control this annoying behavior.

Anyone else have any ideas?

Thanks, in advance!

I thought you were going to ask why the opengl screensavers don't work ;D
Seriously, are you running the regular KDE desktop or FM? I don't have this problem with KDE.

Regular KDE, upgraded from 4.6.5 via Synaptic. And I didn't have this problem until I updated to KDE 4.8.3.

I can not replicate this behaviour on 2012.08, maybe it is some relict from the upgrade. In case it is really annoying you could uninstall kscreensaver and use a blank screensaver instead.

Why should I have to cripple my installation? That's no solution. Last time I checked, the blank screensaver IS included in kscreensaver.
