undefined video mode at boot
« on: September 12, 2012, 12:36:28 PM »
pclos 2012.02 lxde on hp mini1000 with Intel Corporation Mobile 945GSE Express graphics.

Don't remember why  at moment but installed a newer kernel (3.2.18-pclos1.bfs) to try something. upon reboot got the "undefined video mode.317 plz select...."

Found thread on changing vga=791 to vga=normal in menu.lst but now get "undefined device string"  and can only reboot. Original kernel seems to boot fine.

Am I missing something?

If Changing vga=791 to vga=normal in menu.lst caused "undefined device string" to appear, why not switch back?

Try kernel 3.2.18-pclos2.bfs. It is the more recent build of the 3.2.18 kernel.
