New screen goes black with the X session
« on: September 12, 2012, 10:46:03 AM »
A friend of mine got an LCD TV Screen (a Venture) and I switch her old CRT Monitor for the new Screen.

At startup, I see the grub menu and the splash screen but when the X session start, the screen goes black with two thin blue lines on the top and in the middle of the screen.

How can I change the monitor settings in the PCC without X session (I think maybe I can solve the problem by choosing the right screen)?

Thanks

Thanks ghostbunny, i'll try it as soon as possible.

I got more information: it's a Venturer LCD TV 19".  So it's not really a computer screen, maybe it's why I got some problems...

I try it at my home on a PCLinuxOS Openbox and it works (but not perfectly as it flash all 20 seconds).
With Sabayon OS on the same computer, it's all right.

When I'll retry with her computer, I will try to set the screen with XFdrake, but I'm really not sure if I'll be able to resolved the problem like this...
