Can we get CONFIG_RTC_INTF_PROC=y in kernel 3.2.18?
« on: September 11, 2012, 01:47:03 PM »
The CONFIG_RTC_INTF_PROC is not enabled in kernel 3.2.18, and this makes it hard/impossible to debug and perhaps set RTC wakeup in bios.

If RCT proc is enabled then debugging is made simply by: cat /proc/driver/rtc

MythTV neeeds this setting to set the wakeuptime for the next recording,

can this be added to the .config?

cheers,
MBantz

I'm working on some new kernels. I'll bookmark this request and make sure it gets done.

You might also be interested in a regression in the 3.2.18 kernels regarding S2R & S2D on this PC .....  see sig for details.

I had to stop using the 3.2.18 because of it.

2.6.38.8 has no problems at all.

Can you give a link to a thread where this has been discussed? Otherwise, I'm not sure where to start looking. It could be a change in the kernel, or a change in the patches or configs. The build script, spec file, and individual kernel .config files are very large, so I need some clues. Thanks.

There was no large discussion about the issue as far as I am aware, but I did start a thread here

I've been too busy to finish this project. But, I am back working on it. I have 3.4.11 built with everything that is needed, I think. I'll send in the nosrc.rpm as soon as it is finished.

Yep! I've got everything in place, patches work, spec file is ready. I've got to build on a couple of systems to make sure everything is correct and then I'll upload to Neal's dropbox. I'm guessing sometime late tomorrow. It will need testing, but I think it is in good shape.
