I can confirm that wpa has worked for me for years. So, it is likely a configuration issue or a driver problem. I'll try to help, but hopefully our wireless experts will chip in. First, did you configure your wireless with the linux driver or did you choose ndiswrapper? Second, if you are comfortable in a console (text window), type:
Code: [Select]
lspci | grep -i wireless in a console. What have you done to troubleshoot? It is difficult even for the experts if there is not enough detail.

wpa works for me as well... and like Galen said, the experts probably need more information... please post the output of these terminal commands in addition to the one that Galen posted;

uname -r

lspci

lsusb

I'm sure our wireless experts can get you going!

Have you provided the appropriate password for the setup?

If there's a harder way to do something I'll probably find it.

My default AT&T gateway defaults to WEP.  To get WPA you have to
enter the modem/Gateway directly thru it's IP address with a provided
password.   Then configure WPA to use your password(s) etc..

You should go in there and double-check the passwords, etc. and then
configure PCL network manager to use that WPA info.

Should work then.

I can confirm WPAx works fine - I don't think it's an OS issue but most likely a config issue, but as previously mentioned, the forum would need more info to offer precise help
