1. To create a live usb you could try the menu selection More Applications > Configuration > PCLinuxOS Live USB creator;
2. I get most disk burning success using GnomeBaker.

I've never had a completely black screen.
...
I no longer have a PCLinux FM 2011 key, because I assumed the LiveUSB key would be just as simple to make for the new one as it was for the old one, but clearly, it's not.
So, I can't do any of that. Thanks, however, for the input and time.
I love me some Linux, but I used to think _Ubuntu was superior. That is, until after installing it on 4 machines I had to use my backup PCLinux USB to repair it 'cuz I tried a nightly build and it was @$$. Now, I keep an _Ubuntu LiveUSB key, a PCLinuxFM and Pheonix key, and a Win7 key. Just in case.

Could it be because it's 64-bit? I just successfully ran it (UNetbootin one) on an HP Z210 workstation in my engineering class. It loaded just fine. The problem being, I don't have access to that PC for 12 hours to install the 2012 version.

...and don't say, "WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL US?" because I did provide a link with all specifications (I think).

And for whatever reason, the retards over at HP set up this desktop with RAID boot stuff, and it has 1 drive. ONE. Period, (comma) end of story.
