CalmAV as email and web AV?
« on: September 08, 2012, 07:46:43 PM »
On a list from another distro, I found this: "ClamAV is something that can scan email and web browsing to catch threats that are not brand new."  Am I missing something?
I have had ClamAV installed for several years, and have never seen anything about watching mail or the web on a live case-by-case basis. I know it scans existing files for
malware, but I didn't know it would work live.   If it can (does?) what do I have to do to let it?  (Of course, I update its db regularly.)

Thanx, gurus--doug

dougmack,
as far as I know the  ClamAV auto email scan only works with Claws Mail (needs specific plugins).
re web browsing (am using FF) can post later.
cheers
