Autoplay cd or dvd
« on: September 07, 2012, 08:53:13 PM »
Running PCLOS Phoenix, all updated and running fine. But I can not seem to figure out how to make audio cds or dvds autoplay.  Normally, its not an issue for me but on the wife computer, its a necessity.

Done a lot of searching both here on these forums and on the net and really have not come up with a workable solution.  I know i need to have thunar-volman installed and i do.  I have tried, under volume management this code for autoplay of cds  "parole --dev=%d" and parole will open but won't autoplay.

Anybody got this working on phoenix??????

I don't use xfce and you may of already tried this but I did see this - the question was

XFCE how do I disable dvd autoplay?

so for yourself you would enable instead

Xfce setting manager=Removable Drives and Media

Under Removable Staorage:

de-select select auto run programs and auto open files on new ...

Under Multimedia:
play audio cd
play video cd

Yes I saw that but thanks for the help.

The problem is that when the audio cd is inserted, it is not mounted even though I have selected automount under the xfce settings manager.  You can also access this through thunar preferences.  However, it just won't automount the cd.  Tried lots of times.  I do get an icon on the desktop for the cd and also one in thunar.  But I have to manually mount it.  Even then, its mounted with root ownership.

Frustrating.
