sorry, meant audio sample rate  ;)

make sure sound is ticked to be recorded before pressing  Cap. Video

As you do not appear to have a UVC compliant webcam, it might have a problem with it as it does with mine .....  or not  :D

There are a few things that do not appear to be functioning for me ........

1.  I do not see FPS shown when I tick the box
I see it here, it's on the Menu Bar.

Hah!   The video window was too small to allow it to show!

Yes it is there when I expand it sufficiently.

Thanks.

2.  The Capture Image button does not appear to function
Works for me.

You are right again!
There were two similarly named directories .....  one a sub directory of another .....  and it was into the sub directory the file was being saved. The other one had an old image in it which encouraged me to believe that was the one to be used. Now deleted  ;)

Thanks for the help with those.

There is nothing to prevent it being released so, from my tests.

I tested an older webcam .....  non-uvc compliant .....  and had audio issues with it ...... so thought it might be similar with your cam.

Is the video recording properly without sound? ......  sound unticked ....

Does it play back at the correct speed?

On the audio tab you select the Audio API .....  Portaudio or PulseAudio  if you have PA installed.
Then select the MIC from the list of devices (if you have more than one available try each in turn)
Then you should be able to select the audio sample rate ..... from the drop-down list
Channels - Mono
Audio Format MP3  to begin with.

Sorry I haven't offered any help/advice so far but I can't reproduce any of the problems which you've both posted about. My WebCam is a Sweex WC060 Series HD, which is working perfectly with guvcview but I have to confess, sound is a bit on the quiet side even with volume(s) set to maximum. I'm using PortAudio, as I don't have PulseAudio installed.

Question:
Do either of you have problems with your WebCams with other applications?

The only outstanding problem with Quvcview is the Vumeter not showing as far as I can tell.

It is not designed for non (uvc) compliant webcams and so I am not one bit concerned that the sound on my old webcam causes problems.
The sound on the uvc compliant webcam is fine.
I can mix sound from any source (other than itself) with the old webcam video.

So to me it is doing more than it is designed to do ......  that it uses the older cams at all is a real bonus.
