Dear Colleagues,

I am getting this error, libtool: link: cannot find the library `/usr/lib/libgdk_pixbuf-2.0.la' , when trying to package PCSXR (http://pcsxr.codeplex.com/)

And I am stuck at that point. I've searched for this libgdk_pixbuf-2.0.la and it doesn't exist.

Would you have any tip or suggestion on this issue ??? ?

Thanks in advance,

Sincerely

Hummm, er... Well, I did a ls *.la in usr/lib/ and returned more than 40 files.
I am afraid I will do this and wreck my system...

Have you tried it TerryN ? What do you tell me ? Is it safe ?

Sincerely,

With my limited understanding, all *.la files should be deleted. They contain information for libtool, that libtool can find without them, but if some exist, libtool expects all of them to exist(?). Some packages mistakenly create them, so whenever I have a problem building a package, the first thing I do is delete /usr/lib/*.la and /usr/lib64/*.la. This doesn't always fix things, but it has never made the problems worse.

Errr, hummm, yes... Newbie's misfires... Ehehehehehehehe... ;D

It's just those problems seemed so outlandish I didn't think the easy fixes would work.

Turns out they worked very well...
