Have you right clicked the bar?  it happens to  me from time to time and that fix it.
That's a little funny actually as I thought the Wbar was meant to have a Black background, as it always has for me.

After reading Crow's suggestion of simply right clicking on Wbar, the Black background has gone. Heck it looks a lot better !  :D

Does wbar support "fake transparency" the same way that cairo-dock does?  I use Cairo with fake transparency enabled (my LXDE doesn't do well with OpenGL yet), and I notice sometimes it is slow to refresh the background for the dock bar when I change desktops.

Couldn't swear to it, but this may be a similar issue?

Okay, i think, i found the mistake...
Can you check if you have installed
Code: [Select]
/etc/xdg/autostart/wbar.desktop?
Remove it from there as root, and try again
Code: [Select]
# (en) Wait 10 seconds before starts up.
# (de) 10 Sekunden warten bis zum starten.
sleep 3
#
#parcellite &
#gkrellm &
#xbindkeys &
cpufreq &
##############
sleep 10 # or higher #
##############
wbar &

Works now?

I felt a little sad that no one had replied to daniel, whether the script had worked for them, or not ; posting like there's an "uncomfortable silence", or an 'Elephant in the room' ; however Crow I learnt something from your comment, looking at Wikipedia.

I've become very fond of this Forum as there are so many people with a great depth of knowledge about all sorts of things. Healthy Culture !

Your "Elephant in the room" phrase made me remind that story, it's a metaphor about the relativity and fragmentation of knowledge and truth (and how we don't question what we think we witnessed) that I liked to use when working with families because even children understand it easily   :)

The richness of this forum is the variety of backgrounds of people that post, you have mechanics and chefs, monkeys and dogs, and even a socialite and a fairy the comes here from time to time   ;D   ;D

Yeah, is a great story. I enjoyed the philosophy behind it, deep but easily understood !

Hi friends,

this is not very important, but many times (not always) the Wbar background is black when I start PCLOS. I reload Wbar and the background appears.

Is possible solve this problem?

Thanks.

Did you load the composite manager ?   try to start :  xcompmgr -Ff -Cc & before wbar ?
If you have no composite manager, it would create this symptom.

Regards,

You're onto me Crow  ;D
A copiousness, verbosity, afflicts me in general. Guilty as charged, long-windedness, loquacity, is a major problem that annoys me even.  ;)
To be concise; what a pleasure, and so many more on my 'Post Count'. :D

Let the "Wbar black background" fix continue, with my apologies to all involved; I'll try to cut down on my verbiage.
BTW, a simple 'Right Click' did remove the black background on the Wbar in my case.

Latest change on wbar package is
Removing of wbar.desktop file from /etc/xdg/autostart

Not everybody can, or want use a composite manager....

My fix for it under LXDE is, to use lxautostart, and all will be fine.
