Hi everyone,
I started using PCLinuxOS recently, and I can say I love it. Everything worked out of the box, even the wireless, which hadn't happened with other distros.
I've read a bunch of topics about this, however none of them seems to solve my problem. So... here it goes.
I'm a happy owner (?) of a Broadcom BCM4311 wireless controller which, as I said before, worked right out of the box. But, after upgrading the system, it stopped (kernel 3.2.18-pclos2.pae.bfs & latest dkms-broadcom-wl).
lspci displays: 01:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4311 802.11b/g WLAN (rev 01)
Possible solutions that I've tried so far:
- Installing latest dkms-broadcom-wl and removing the 'b43' files showing up on Synaptic.
- Uninstalling dkms-broadcom-wl and keeping 'b43' files (after modprobe 43, wlan0 seems to be up, even connects to my wi-fi signal, but Firefox doesn't seem to like it, or any program using internet).
With kernel 2.6.38.8 and dkms-broadcom-wl 5.60.48.36 it worked like a charm.
Anyways, I'd like to know if anyone could tell me how could I get my wireless to work again, keeping the latest kernel and system files.
Thanks in advance!
