Why do documents that cups reports as sent successfully vanish and not get printed?
Please refer to the three screen captures shown in a single image at this link:
http://upquick.com/temp/cups.jpg
The subject printer is turned on, set-up, and documents sent wirelessly from my wife's win-xp laptop to the printer print successfully, but documents that I send to print from my linux machine just vanish.

joseppi are you also trying to print wireless? I had the same problem when using a networked printer. I had to give the printer a static IP address. Boy its been a while. But it seems like every time I turned the system on the printer got a different IP address. Any way I solved the problem by giving the printer a static (one that can not change) IP address. I did that by going into the printer setup. Hope that helps.

Yes, I am trying to print wireless.
I do have a static IP address.
lpq shows the Canon-MX430 is ready
http://localhost:631/jobs?which_jobs=completed
shows completed jobs sent.
But nothing prints.

Well, I am sure you have already done this. But delete the printer setup in Linux and then redo it. I am sure it is a networking problem. So take it to "Networking" where more people with networking skills will see it. Good luck.

Thanks. I'll try posting to the network section.
PCC (PCLinux Control center) finds the Canon printer and set it as the
default printer with drivers as shown in these three screen shots:
http://www.upquick.com/temp/cups2.jpg
I also tried the first option as shown in the third screen shot.
Still no print results.
