TVHeadend
« on: April 05, 2013, 11:29:31 AM »
32 bit KDE

I am unable to get TVHeadend working properly.
Has anyone been successful with this?
I would love to hear details if yes, thanks.

Problems I have encountered:

Enabling the service in PCC causes the page to lock up. Forcibly getting out and back in again shows TVHeadend running.
Taking a look at processes, it seems there are two entries for tvheadend.

Shutting down tvheadend in PCC apparently stops one of the processes but not the other .....  which then prevents any other application from accessing the devices.
Shutting down the rest of the related processes allows access for other apps.

TVHeadend does not seem to store the tuning details  .....  I just spent an hour tuning in satellites ....  it found ~950 stations ....  and I had to deselect all but about 60 of them.
Unfortunately the information was apparently lost after TVHeadend was shut down and restarted  :(

I really want to use TVHeadend with XBMC on my HTPS, but I cannot seem to get things working properly.

It is also possible that the tvheadend build is not correct .....  so if others can chime in I would appreciate the info.

EDIT:
Oh yes ....  adding tuning info by location for DTT .....  the config files are out of date ..... as an example, Ireland has no entry at all, whereas on other builds (openelec) it has a complete listing the same as other countries.
That is a very small problem for me, as there are only two muxes available to me, and they can easily be entered by hand .....  provided one knows the tuning details!

Installed from the repo

I have presently abandoned it and have gone back to using Kaffeine which is much more manageable and actually makes sense unless you need a server for multiple clients, which I don't at present.
