The KDE "Filter by Type" Keeps Resetting

If you select jpg, gif, or png and then view an image, when you click the back arrow to return to the folder, the filter is disabled and everything in the folder shows. This didn't happen with the old "View Only" filter.

Also, why is the dropdown menu that lists the file types located at the bottom of the folder? Can it be moved to the top?

I got lost here ........  what application are you using to display the folder's contents?
Does the filemanager display the pic?  If so, I would not have thought that normal ......  I would expect a graphic viewer to display the pic.

At least that is how Dolphin (the default file manager) works here.

It seems you are not using Dolphin, as I have no idea what dropdown menu you are referring to.

So the question remains .....  what app are you using for a file manager?

EDIT:
           It seems it might be Konqueror you are using as I see a 'dropdown' button on that.
Solution would be to set a graphic app to open the pic when you click on it.
That way you never leave the folder of pics.

1. Yes, I'm using Konq to show the images, not an external program.

2. I changed the setting to use externals (KuickShow, Gwenview) to display image files (.jpg, .png, .gif) and now it works okay.
