Hello - my old PC from 1999 finally died, the motherboard burned out.
I transplanted in a motherboard I had in storage, two years newer than the PC above,
but Windows 2000 will not boot (no surprise). This is the board:
http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=767Since Windows 2000 is no longer supported, I was considering PCLOS,
which I run successfully in a much newer box,
but I don't know if any of the versions will work on such an old box
with only 256MB of RAM.
The first thing I have to do is to get access to my old data; it's a small partition
so I could easily copy the stuff I need to a USB stick. So first I have to find
a LiveCD that will work with a box of that vintage.
Thanks for any info.,
Dave
