SSD config: how to change default scheduler from cfq to deadline

menu.lst appears to have auto updated!

the only problem i am running into is that synaptic doesn't want to update now.

 when i update and click apply it's giving me this error:

Could not apply changes!
Fix broken packages first.

when i do edit - fix broken pacakges, i get this error:

E: Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by held packages.
E: Unable to correct dependencies


any idea what's going on?  as i have none

It would appear from the error that you have not properly updated to 4.8.3 and might still have some 4.6.5 packages installed.

If I were you, (a BIG if), I would uninstall the broken packages, do the update, and reinstall any apps I had to remove.
