Graphic card
« on: August 17, 2012, 04:30:25 AM »
I have just tried a livecd installation on my pc. But when it boots up, the screen has  shrunk, Mening it doesn't fill out the entire monitor. I have a ATI graphics card. I was on another distro before, and this problem only occurred when I enabled the proprietary driver. If anybody can help me disable the proprietary driver, I would very much appreciate it. I like this os, and would like to eventually install it.

You can change the video card settings in PCLinuxOS Control Center (grey circle with crossed tools in your toolbar) >> Hardware  ;)

PCC>Hardware>Configure Your Video Card
or
Open a terminal type su and press enter then enter root password and press enter
then type XFdrake and press enter.
Then use the arrow keys on the key board and the enter key to navigate/make selections.

Edit: If you are running from the Live CD after you make the changes then Do Not Reboot, instead Do Logout
and Login .
If you Reboot then the changes will be lost.

I want to thank you for the help, but in the end it was to no avail. I tried to change the the grafiks card driver nut that just resulted in no screen at all. I then tried to configure the tv, but the os did not support my tv.
