Update Error [SOLVED]
« on: August 16, 2012, 02:12:43 AM »
Hi friends,

From yesterday I can't update my system.

I get this error:

Code: [Select]
W: Release file did not contain checksum information for http://ftp.heanet.ie/pub/pclinuxos/apt/pclinuxos/2010/base/pkglist.kde4

Any advice?

Thanks.

But I use LXDE... I have to do this?

Sorry for the lack of explanation .....

The  kde4  section of the repository no longer exists, which is why you got the error message I believe.

Apparently all you need to do is change the   kde4   to  kde   as described in that link.

Maybe someone else will confirm ....

Confirmed. Your Section(s): line must be correct, or you will get that error.

I did this:

I edited the sources.list archive deleting the number 4 and is working...

Now looks like this:

Code: [Select]

Thanks!!

That will work fine till you switch the repository and then you will get errors as the rest of your list still has KDE4 in the sections area.  You might want to go and reedit the file and remove all instances of "KDE4" and replace them with just "KDE"

The upgrade of apt-sources-list from 1.0.1 to 1.0.2 does that.

The apt-sources-list was not installed on synaptic, then I installed the 1.0.2 version.

That's all?

Hi friends,

I have installed PCLOS in 2 laptops and 1 netbook, I installed apt-sources-list in all the machines and the today the netbook did a big update, around 140 Mb where downloaded...

Now my laptop, where is installed update notifier, report a problem and said DO NOT UPDATE!
I reloaded synaptyc and is trying to do the same big update...

What should I do?

What happened with my netbook and this big update?
