Mailing List Emails

Hi Everyone,

I have a bit of a slightly off topic question. I recently submitted some software to bioconductor and as part, I'm required to be on their mailing list in case someone using my package wants to reach me. However, there's a TON of emails going through and now every time I open my inbox, I need mark as read 20 or 30 emails which is annoying...especially on a smart phone... anyone have ideas how to manage this easily? Do you set up filters? Something else?

yes.. you would need to make a folder and filter all those emails into it.. later at home and or at a computer you can go through said folder

So I set up a gmail filter. Now it labels correctly. But now it appears in both my filter and the inbox? Any ideas? Thank you again!

Edit: Just saw the "Skip the Inbox" option. Let's see if this works...

sorry.. should have mentioned that option had you mentioned using gmail .. I get heaps of emails that I do that with .. and once or twice a week I go through those folders

I think if you select all the ones that you've labelled and are in your Inbox, and then choose Mark As Read - unselect them, and they should then all "disappear" out of the inbox and into the "label location"
