when i disable desktop effects everything is ok, no hang at all, but i think there is a solution.

To see whether the kwin issue might be a problem with user settings, create a new user. Log in as the new user. Don't add anything. Just test kwin effects to see if there is any change.

same thing  ???

Waiting for other suggestions. Just want to know Is it a good idea to download nvidia driver from there site and install it in pclinuxos and remove all nvidia driver from synaptic first ?

No, that's the worst option, because it could give some issues to your install and a unsupported install if you get problems!
Also that's what Nvidia advice to use the distribution packages.

Interesting.  I'm running kwin, and haven't tried compiz on my KDE install.  Kwin seems to be doing okay, though.

I can't remember if there was a similar flash problem related to an nVidia driver update for your series of cards (nvidia-current). One last thing you might try is to downgrade the nvidia driver, if it's possible. It will depend on whether the previous driver is still in the repos. To see, open Synaptic. Find the dkms-nvidia-current package and highlight it. Then, click on Package in the upper left corner of the Synaptic window. If Force Version is not ghosted out in the drop down menu, you can downgrade the package by clicking on Force Version and selecting the version number to install. Otherwise, your currently installed package is the only one available.

I have seen that message here and from what I can determine it is false .....  at least in my case the correct Nvidia driver remains in use.

any idea guys

Install   nvdock  from the repository.

The next time you see the message, open Settings from the  nvdock  and check to see what driver is being used.

I suspect, as happened with me, that the correct nvidia driver will be in use.

thank you Mr.Just17

when i run

Code: [Select]
glxgears
the output

Code: [Select]
raed@localhost ~]$ glxgears
Running synchronized to the vertical refresh.  The framerate should be
approximately the same as the monitor refresh rate.
300 frames in 5.0 seconds = 59.857 FPS
300 frames in 5.0 seconds = 59.956 FPS
300 frames in 5.0 seconds = 59.955 FPS
300 frames in 5.0 seconds = 59.955 FPS
300 frames in 5.0 seconds = 59.956 FPS
300 frames in 5.0 seconds = 59.954 FPS
300 frames in 5.0 seconds = 59.944 FPS
XIO:  fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server ":0"
after 48 requests (48 known processed) with 0 events remaining.
[raed@localhost ~]$

!! when i tried arch linux it gives me 4700 frames in 5.0 seconds with nvidia proprietary driver, but with nouveau about 1700 frames in 5.0 seconds
so why just 300 frames in 5.0 seconds in pclinuxos ? Could you explain it to me please ?

It is running at your monitors refresh rate so that is what you see.

This is what I have .....  my monitor being set to 60Hz

Quote
$ glxgears
Running synchronized to the vertical refresh.  The framerate should be
approximately the same as the monitor refresh rate.
303 frames in 5.0 seconds = 60.479 FPS
300 frames in 5.0 seconds = 59.937 FPS
