K3B/DeVeDe
« on: December 11, 2012, 07:23:58 AM »
Good morn to all
I have used k3b for years and have had no problem . can even burn old iso with no problem. In Devede i make an image of an avi then burn it to dvd with k3b as an iso. Everything burns fine but when I try to play it on vlc  or a dvd player the title cannot be highlighted to start the movie. As this has worked for me for years I Am perplexed
Does anyone have any ideas
Hope all is well with textar       tom

P.S when i open the dvd in vlc and choose playback option title 2 everthing plays fine on my computer but not on my settop dvd. Iis almost like i have a setting that is incorrect

do you use devede to create a iso and then burn that iso with k3b and it doesn't work?

have you tried the iso before burning it in vlc?

Go to Devede options and choose mencoder for menus, do not choose ffmpeg 'cause ffmpeg will fail to create a usable menu, don't ask me why 'cause I don't know, maybe another member of the forum can enlighten us!

I checked the default settings on DeVeDe here ...

Encode for Videos:   ffmpeg
Encode for Menus:   mencoder

So it appears the default settings should do as you advised.

Note:  I only checked the settings for Video DVD

BTW ....  thanks for the 'heads-up' on ffmpeg failing with menus  ;)
