Like:

Step 1: xxxx
Step 2: zzzz
Etc.

I am freshly back to Linux.  I was pretty good at it, but since I left it my brain aged to 91.  Help!

Hi albrtijo

Can you post which version of PCLinuxOS you are using.

When you say connecting to the internet, do you mean how to setup a network connection or which browser/email client to use etc..
PCLinuxOS 32bit KDE 4.10.1; kernel-3.4.11-pclos1.bfs & 64bit 3.2.18bfs; NVidia GeForce 8400GS 1GB 310.19 driver

Sony Vaio SVE1513A4ESI Laptop, Intel Core i5, 2.6GHz, 6GB RAM, 750GB, 15.6" Intel HD Graphics 4000

See I've relearned something already: include the info!

v. 12 also 11, but 12 for now.

I'm trying to get access to the internet on a new installment.  I get to the window of choosing between wired and unwired.

you should be as descriptive as you can possibly be, this removes unnecessary back and forth just to get basic information.

are you trying to go online using a wired or wireless connection?

if you are getting any error when you attempt to connect, what do they say?

what are the output of these commands?

uname -r

ifconfig

iwconfig

lsusb

lspci
