"Open With" command not working

Dear Group,  I use Digikam on my PC.  I can start Digikam and then open a photo just fine, but if i select a photo in Dolphin and select "Open With" and then select Digikam the program shows on my taskbar for a few seconds then disappears again with no Digikam.

Any thought on how i can correct this behavior please?

I don't think the later version/s can do that ......  I seem to recall a post about it some time ago .....
