Recently Used Aplications....howto..hide..delete..?
« on: August 01, 2012, 08:00:49 PM »
When clicking on PC in the bottom left corner (also called Start )
There are 3 panels visible
--Recently used applications
--All Applications
--Actions

How can I get rid of the top one..Recently Used Applications...alltogether (permanent )

Also, I would like to know how to "manipulate" the bottom panel, <Actions >

Thanks
Xx

Right click on the PC Menu button, then 'Application Launcher Menu Settings'. Unclick 'Recently Used Applications'.

You can remove the list of recently used documents here:
~/.kde4/share/apps/RecentDocuments

Right click on the PC Menu button

In the last 2 days I have " right clicked" there about 81 times ( as I am using KmenuEdit for trying out something) , and now I wonder what's wrong with me .....either my eyes or my brain .

Never mind, that's probably why I take 'Sermion' 3 times a day .

Thanks gseaman

Just a thought Xena, have you tried the "Kickoff menu" ?

Again r/click KMenu and choose "Switch to Application Launcher Style"

That gives the choice of adding/ removing favourites

Plus it also has the "Computer Tab" which lists all the folders listed on Dolphins "Places Panel"

I've been trying out the Application Launcher (QML) widget and I'm finding it's is better than either the KMenu/Classic or KMenu/Launcher Style. as the menu folders are in view 99% of the time so it's a bit quicker.

Yes, I have explored that too.. :D

There are many choices one can make.
I am just going to work with each for a week, and see which fits me best.

Thanks
