I am having my wife register for the PCLOS Forum so that she will be able to post when she cannot find answers after reading other post here. She told me she is getting a response that they think she is Spam as follows:
"The user _______ with Email _____9@gmail.com (IP 99.124******) is a Spam, please contact forum administrator. "
I found a contact for questions about PCLOS gives an email address for Old-Poluck. Is he the person that should be notified or is there someone else that is acting as the forum administrator that can be contacted to enable a new forum member?
Thanks in advance.
That be me. The spam checkers look at the user name, email address and IP address of a new registration, and if even one of the three has previously been linked to an active spammer, either deliberately as an individual, or as part of a botnet of virus infected Windows machines, the registration is not allowed and the spammer message is returned.
Tell her to try with a different user name first. If you and she are using the same modem/router your internet IP address will be the same, so if one gets in, both get in, assuming the user names and email addresses are not previously flagged as belonging to an active spammer.
