D/L new ISO, or use old PCLOS 10, then update???
« on: July 31, 2012, 09:54:26 AM »
I'm ready to try PCLOS 10 w/ Gnome again. It was the best performer I ever loaded, except for 07 KDE, which was absolutely THE best, fastest, etc., ...

Neither one however would ever hook up with my HP dv 9000 Broadcom chip. So it got over-written, and back to which-ever was the least offensive of Fedora, SuSE, Ubuntu, etc., ...

Did I read somewhere the other night, that PCLOS 10 w/ Gnome is laid waste?

If it is still viable, I will re-install. Which leads to the [title] question:

SHould I burn a new ISO for Gnome, or load the old ISO, and update?

My CD is livecd 2010070509:06, if that tells anything here...

after 2 years of release alot has changed in pclinux including kernel, drivers and basic parts of the os

you can install but it could be possible that you can't update it properly

also the repo list changed last months so the old iso will need to update list adding more time to the whole process

i would just download a new iso and install it, it could be faster than update a old install that possibly won't work

Not gonna' let on with secrets of 10 + Gnome? What IS Linux Gator anyway?

And I see no mod edit where the Unubtu reference got botted by the edit-bot??? Is Canonical the enemy? Or is BGates? Answer 'C' ? - all of the above?

Gnome + UB relationship too cozy for local developers?

"Not gonna' let on with secrets of 10 + Gnome? What IS Linux Gator anyway?"

linuxgator is a separated forum for pclinux gnome

http://linuxgator.org/

"And I see no mod edit where the Unubtu reference got botted by the edit-bot??? Is Canonical the enemy? Or is BGates? Answer 'C' ? - all of the above?"

the forum has a rule of no discussion of other distros so bad comments that can hurt other distros or linux in general can be made

also the forum software when detects the name of other distro replaces the word with other word

you know, this forum is for pclinux, not for other distros
