switching desktops query <SOLVED>
« on: July 18, 2012, 03:13:25 AM »
hello,

a rather trivial matter: on PClinuxOS LXDE (like in other Linux distros) there's an option to launch some programs on a desktop 1 and some on a desktop 2, etc. In the past I've found it really useful when for example I'd rather keep my Facebook separated from my word.doc and avoid distractions.

Might be mistaken, but I seem to recall that (in other LXDEs I used once I switched to another desktop, no minimized windows appeared in the taskbar. In other words, if I had (say) Chrome open on one desktop (and it appeared on the taskbar), I couldn't see it on the taskbar when I switched to another desktop.

This doesn't seem to happen on my PclinuxOS LXDE. Any window I've got open on one desktop, sits on the taskbar in any other desktop...making the whole thing rather self-defeating.

Any idea? can you plz advise? Thanks.

Right click on you taskbar in your panel.  In the Task Bar settings untick "show Windows from all desktops".  Done.
