I am using a personal vpn service. The web site for that service gives some basic instructions to get it working under Linux (though the screenshots look like Ubuntu). I followed their instructions as close as possible, but I am not succeeding. I used PCC to define the VPN. I then went to my network interface (the green checked box in the icon area), opened it and configured my connection to tell it to use the VPN (or at least I think I am). When I stop and then start the network, it continues to show that I am not using the VPN. It is ignoring it. Because I think I must be doing something wrong related to PCLOS as opposed to the VPN settings themselves (otherwise I would expect failure to connect to the internet) so I'm hoping to get an answer here.
For anyone using VPN (I'm using OpenVPN to connect), any tips on getting the network to point to using the VPn as opposed to the regular connection. I have no idea what I am doing wrong.
Running PCLOS 2012 KDE, fully updated.
