Not sure where this question belongs but here seemed appropriate.
I just downloaded qcomicbook. I thought it would be fun to read some comic books on it once in awhile.
That all sounds good but I am having trouble finding any comic books to read. I am interested in older comics silver age or even golden age. I have found a couple sites but their files are .cbr files that qcomicbook doesn't read.
Any one else use this and have any idea where I can find some good downloads. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is a 5th dimension, beyond that which is known to man.It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity, between science& superstition,& it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call PCLINUXOS!

Looks like
qcomicbook
should support cbr. Have you tried
comix
?
If you have a specific cbr file, I'll install
qcomicbook
and test it.

It said it didn't support that file type. It doesn't have it listed in it's file types either. The whole site I found had only those files. Probably because they were pushing their own viewer.
I deleted the file but I will go find another. Thanks for answering.
Also have not tried comix. That was next on the agenda.

Wouldn't work with Comix either.
Maybe the files are bad. Comix says it opens CBR files.
I will have to look for another site. That was the only site that didn't make you jump through hoops before you could download something.

Did you check the file (to make sure it was valid, not corrupt, etc.)?
From a command prompt, try
Code:
[Select]
file name_of_file.cbr
I think it should tell you it is a
rar
archive. You could check the contents with
rarlinux
.

Thanks but already solved it just now. I kept trying and realized it wasn't unpacking. I didn't have unrar installed. Went to synaptic downloaded it, and now it works. New install on a different computer than I have been using. Just getting all the little tweaks and downloads done.
Thanks for trying to help.
Also I like Comix better than qComicbook. It makes it easier to scroll through the book.
