Having problem with Google Drive plugin and Chromium
« on: June 30, 2012, 12:22:25 PM »
Chrome doesn't seem to be in the repositories, so I loaded Chromium-browser. I am trying to enable offline editing of Google docs, which requires the Google Drive to be installed first. After multiple attempts, all of which failed, I can't get the Google Drive plugin for Chrome to install in Chromium. I'd appreciate suggestions.
Edit: the particular error message:
There was a problem adding the item to Chrome. Please refresh the page and try again.

Trying the error message suggestion, restarting the app, or rebootings all result in the same error message on reattempting the install of the plugin.

You should be able to install it as a Chromium extension from the download page here. It's at the top of the list.

Bare metal                           VBox
AMD Athlon 7750 Dual-Core    Single core
4GiB RAM                              1GiB RAM
nVidia GeForce FX 5200          64MB video
LXDE 32bit                            KDE 64bit

Thanks for the suggestion; but that is the webpage I've been trying without success. If you have used that page successfully and I'm getting the error message I reported; what are possible causes to be researched? Or perhaps a place to report the problem to Google?
Thanks again,
Alan

Looks like the best thing to do is report the issue to the Chromium project. For lack of a better entry point, go to this page, click the New Issue button in the upper left corner, then login with your Google ID. They sure don't make it easy.
